Since then I’ve gained experience from diverse settings: in the airlines, as a yoga instructor, as an after school cooking teacher, and with that background I hope to use it well to hold space with empathy and an open mind. I look to support you all with your own uniquely rich and diverse experience, and lean on that to build up personal mental health toolboxes. I look forward to meeting you!

Hello! My name is Susana Venegas, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) Trainee. I am currently earning my Masters's in Mental Health Counseling at Palo Alto University and have a BA in Social Sciences with a double minor in Spanish and forensic psychology from Western Oregon University. I have in-patient care experience providing trauma-informed treatment services to community members. My career has been devoted to developing individuals and supporting marginalized and vulnerable populations. I hold people’s humanity with care, reinforcing in others that they possess inherent value. I’ve struggled with challenges having to do with assimilation, acculturation, and cultural identity. I come from a community that has little knowledge of mental health/wellness. My experiences as a young immigrant have shaped my current work. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I have firsthand experience with how language barriers can affect individuals from accessing healthcare. I believe that all people should have the right to quality healthcare. I recognize the strength and courage it takes to seek assistance. I recognize that sometimes we can feel rejected by our society, culture, community, family, and even our own selves. I welcome every aspect of who you are. I value you, just as you are. As an immigrant and person of color, I honor similarities that we may share, as well as differences between us. I strive to provide a space that is respectful and welcoming of your culture and beliefs. I believe that you are the expert in your life. You come to me with your own strengths and gifts, which I can help you identify and/or enhance. I look forward to providing support along the way and working together. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, eating, working out, and exploring new places.

Hi, everyone! My name is Veronica Ebora. I’m currently a graduate student at Santa Clara University, on the LPCC track with a Health Psychology emphasis. Prior to SCU, I graduated with a BS in Psychology at San Jose State University. What drew me to psychotherapy was initially wanting to work with children and teens in the future, having that experience by volunteering for a Middle Youth Ministry, tutoring for second grade students, and working in the ABA field with children diagnosed with autism. I became invested in mental health after seeing my peers during college experience negative effects of quarantine in academic performance, also experiencing them myself. This influenced my interesting in wanting to work with adolescents and young adults as the population of focus in my practice, as many mental health challenges arise during those stages of life from different internal and external factors, having gone through them myself. Even now mental health is still stigmatized, and my goal is to provide clients the resources to understand themselves and process their reactions toward their experiences. I love learning - would love to learn about psychotherapy in depth and learn about the clients I will be working with!
