History: Peace-It-Together (PIT) Counseling Agency’s roots started out of a 1 bed room apartment, where our Teen Dating Violence Prevention Outreach program began. We’ve been in business since 2002!

- WHAT KIND OF CLINICAL EXPERIENCE WILL I GAIN?
- Trainees & Associates will gain a variety of experiences as you treat clients who suffer from: Trauma, depression, substance abuse, anxiety and more.
- Supervision consists of weekly group supervision and 1:1 supervision set forth by the BBS requirements.
- Group observation and training is provided throughout the year.
- Skills you learn at Peace-It-Together are transferable
- Your work at PIT will make a measurable positive impact in your community
- You will gain group experience and individual clinical experience
- You will have a CAMFT certified clinical supervisor with over 20 years of experience.

- WILL ALL OF MY CLIENTS BE COURT MANDATED?
- No. We have 2 very unique programs that treat court mandated youth and one program for court mandated adults that helps parents with co and parallel parenting. All of the other client’s you will treat are voluntary and referred from insurance companies and the county. We also accept Victim Witness clients.
- One of our programs we offer is providing sexual abuse trauma treatment to incarcerated youth. These youths are not mandated into treatment.
- WHAT’S IT LIKE WORKING WITH COURT MANDATED YOUTH IN YOUR TDVFI PROGRAM?
- Client’s who are court mandated for treatment to overcome violence, are themselves trauma survivors. We know that 71% of juvenile justice involved youth have experienced at least one trauma before turning 18.
- Offering treatment to youth referred to this program means you have an opportunity to directly impact the reduction of violence in your community. You can make a real difference.
- Current Stats: As of February 2018, no graduate from 2016 has re-offended. That means the TDVFI program has a 100% success rate for the 2016 graduates, which is the ultimate victim work by choosing to work with those who are violent towards others.
- WILL I HAVE TRANSFERABLE SKILLS IF I WORK WITH JUVENILE JUSTICE INVOLVED YOUTH?
- YES. All of the training experience you will receive in that program is transferrable.
- Why? Because you will be learning in depth about: assessing clients; conflict resolution; suicidal assessments; assertive communication; parenting; overcoming resistance; power and control issues; the delivery of motivational interviewing and CBT treatment.
- Power and control issues surface with most clients who are not court mandated in normal everyday relationships, as does conflict and communication issues.
